Baby Esther Lee Jones from Chicago. The "scat singing" origination of "Boop-Boop-a-Doop" was adapted and or inspired from Esther's original routines in 1928. Esther however is not the originator of scat singing. Bessie Smith's riva; Gertie Saunders is the originator, not Esther. And for those mistaken, Gertrude was NOT Esther Jones. Esther's mother was also called Gertrude which makes things a little crazy. Other than that she was the black Shirley Temple of her time and dominated Europe.
